Meet Our Equine Team

At Hearts, our horses receive the highest standard of care, ensuring they stay healthy, happy, and ready to do the meaningful work they love. Each horse is given supplements tailored to their individual needs, kept on a strict maximum ride limit each day, and regularly groomed to keep them looking and feeling their best. They’re also seen routinely by our trusted vet and farrier team to maintain their overall health. Many of our horses are rescues, and with that comes additional time, attention, and rehabilitation to help them heal and thrive. And of course, every horse ends their day with a well-earned carrot to say “thank you” for a job well done. We’re always looking for wonderful horses to join our herd—if you’re considering donating a horse, we’d love to hear from you!

Love the mission at Hearts but short on time? Sponsoring a horse is the perfect way to stay connected and make a real difference! Starting $100 a month, your sponsorship helps cover essential care—like feed, supplements, vet visits, and farrier services. As a sponsor, you’ll also have the chance to visit your horse once a month for some quality time—take them for a walk, offer a good grooming, and share a little love. It’s a beautiful way to give back, one brushstroke at a time.

    SCOOT

    Quarter Horse

Scoot is our most beloved and experienced horse, the steady soul who has carried countless riders with patience and heart. He’ll happily do anything you ask—walk, trot, teach, comfort—as long as you remember his favorite rule: everything is better with a carrot. This gentle veteran is adored by students and volunteers alike, and he brings a little extra magic to every lesson.

    ROMEO

    Bay Quarter Horse

Romeo arrived about a year ago after being rescued from a kill pen, and this old cowboy horse has been stealing hearts ever since. He loves a good scratch, carries himself with gentle wisdom, and is easily the most handsome boy on the property. With his soft eyes and steady spirit, he’s a reminder of just how special a second chance can be.

    CHARLOTTE

    Thoroughbred Mix

Charlotte is our tallest and sweetest horse, a gentle giant who will do anything you ask with patience and grace. She has faithfully served our program for years and remains an excellent, dependable partner in every way. As she nears retirement, Charlotte is now available for adoption—still with plenty of good rides left in her. She would make a wonderful trail horse or a safe, reliable companion for kids, and she’s ready to bring her big heart to a forever home.

    NIKKI

    Quarter Horse

Nikki is one of our rescue horses, a sweet and loving girl with just a touch of shyness that makes her even more endearing. We’re currently helping her put on some weight, so for now she works with our smallest riders, who adore her gentle nature. With each passing week, Nikki grows stronger, braver, and more confident—proof of just how far kindness can go.

    WHISPER

    Flea-bitten Quarter Horse

Whisper is the bold boss mare of our herd—tall, noble, and full of spirit. Recently retired from her lesson duties, this once fast-and-furious queen ruled the arena in her prime. Now, with occasional arthritis flare-ups, she’s looking for a loving home where she can enjoy gentle days, plenty of affection, and all the spa treatments she adores.

Whisper is currently up for adoption and ready to be cherished in her well-earned retirement.

She’s hardworking, patient, and always gives her best in the arena—then enjoys her well-earned rest days just as much. A true gem in our program, Freya brings both reliability and charm to every lesson.
