We use the healing power of horses to serve children & adults with special needs & individuals recovering from trauma.
What Does "Hearts Therapeutic Riding" Do?
Hearts Therapeutic Riding provides safe, fun instruction with horses, both on horseback and on the ground, with numerous volunteers and PATH certified instructors.
What Do Lessons Look Like?
Meet & Connect
Riders are introduced to their horse, building trust through greeting, brushing, and preparing for the session—laying the foundation for confidence and comfort.
Mount & Settle In
With the support of trained staff and volunteers, riders safely mount the horse. They adjust their posture, find balance, and get comfortable before beginning the ride.
Ride with Purpose
The instructor guides the horse and rider through exercises designed to build strength, coordination, communication, and emotional connection—all while enjoying the natural movement of the horse.
Cool Down & Celebrate
After the ride, the horse is thanked and cared for (they love carrots!), and the rider reflects on the progress they made. Every session ends with encouragement, smiles, and a sense of accomplishment.
We offer a wide variety of programs—
from therapeutic riding to general lessons—so every rider can find their perfect fit.
